Bio:
Emer was born in the slums of the largest city on the planet of Roselincross to her prostitute mother and his street performer father, and her older brother. Their family struggled to get by doing all they could just to keep fed and clothed through the harsh winters and blistering summers of Roselincross, but she couldn’t be happier so long as she had her family by her side. She was a light in their dreary family life, a sweet little child who loved her family to the utmost despite their flaws. She managed to make their tattered home a happy place with her smiles and laughter. Just after Rórdán’s tenth birthday their mother and father were killed in a drive by shooting while on an outing to town to buy food, his father was shot first and his mother after as she stood to protect Rórdán and Emer from getting hit.

The two watched their mother and father’s bodies hit the ground one after another in shock Emer fell silent for a few moments before she rushed between her mother and father’s bodies tears streaming down her cheeks screaming for them to get up. Rórdán snapped out of his shock and picked her up pulling her close holding her head to his chest as he shook his head and whispered softly. “Don’t look...Mom and Dad can’t hear us anymore...please don’t cry” He whispered these words to her trying to convince her that this would somehow be okay, but she knew what’d just happened. Living in the slums she knew what death looked like...and this was it. All she had in the world now was Rórdán and music, when her brother turned as the doctors came only to confirm what they already knew she clung to his coat crying into his shirt. She and Rórdán sat off to the side wrapped in blankets from the ambulances they sat there for what felt like hours before a police officer came over to talk to them. Someone tried to take her away while Rórdán was briefed on what happened but he refused to let his her out of his sight or his arms, and she refused to be taken. The rest of the conversation with the officer passed in a haze to the young girl not knowing what would happen now that her momma and poppa were gone from this place. The officer and Rórdán seemed to come to some sort of understanding and the officer left for a bit coming back with her father’s large black guitar case. They’d been planning on all singing together in the square after their shopping was done so her father had his guitar with him. Rórdán reached up with a shaky hand taking the guitar case handle carefully pulling it close as Emer turned around in his arms and touched the case as well. She broke down into tears again in his arms and though he may have thought she didn’t hear him or feel his tears dripping against her ears, she knew he was crying too.

From that day on the two of them lived out on the streets making a living the only way they knew how, with their father’s old guitar and the music in their hearts. Just as Rórdán and their father had done before they’d play in the center square from dawn till midnight and retreat back to the alleyways for the night to count up their earnings going shopping twice a week for food and supplies. One day Emer started to get sick and Rórdán seemed to fall into a panic, he pulled out some money he must’ve saved up in case of emergency and tucked her carefully in blankets as off to what she could only assume was the doctor in town. She felt the fever take her not long after her brother had left her body feeling as if it were burning under the blankets but she was entirely too weak to free herself from them. So instead she did what she could only hope would calm her, she would sing until her brother returned.

It wasn’t all that long before she heard footsteps down the alleyway and she smiled up then her face grew paler still as she noticed the man dressed mostly in black through her fever hazed vision. The man was tall and to her frightening, she quivered from something other than the cold sweat dripping down her face as she tried to speak she was stopped by a light touch of the man’s fingers on her forehead as she froze in fear. “Oh dear, you have quite the fever don’t you little one? Let’s get you to some help quickly” The man’s voice was soft and caring and she was soothed by the tone as she was lifted in her cocoon of blankets she started to close her eyes for a moment before panicking again. If she was taken to safety and her brother returned without her here he’d worry greatly and do something rash as he was known to do while protecting her. He’d started many a fight to keep her safe from other orphans and strays of the slums who tried to take her from him. She didn’t want to worry him so she grabbed the man’s coat collar tugging weakly to get his attention “Can’t go! Brot-her M-my brother!” She started crying not sure if he could hear her thinking he might leave without her brother and then they’d both be all alone.

“Your brother?” The man repeated and she nodded “Did he go to get help?” he asked and she nodded weakly once more “Alright little one...we’ll wait for him.” He said lightly patting her head and with that relief washed over her and she let the pressing sleep of the fever take her. She spent the next few hours in and out of feverish nightmares about the day their parent’s died, she saw her brother’s body there with her mother’s and fathers. It was her worst nightmare and the fever made it all feel so real that it was terrifying. She washed in and out of the nightmare, and in moments she felt she was conscious she could feel her body shuddering as if laying atop something in a warm place moving along, she could see bright blue skies and meadows like those she’d only ever seen in fairy tale books. She was in and out like this for about a week conscious for only hours at a time and lucid for only moments of those. Finally she came through and the sickness had passed, the moment she sat up the words on her lips were her brother’s name. She needed to know he was around, that he was safe and nearby, she found him quickly asleep on a couch beside the bed she was on. The dark circles under his eyes told her he’d been staying awake to watch over her, once she assured herself he was safe and real and this wasn’t another nightmare she wandered around eventually meandering into a large lavish office filled with books and instruments. She stood there in awe, instruments she didn’t even know existed, things she’d only seen in TV ads as they passed through town.

“Interested little one?” Came a familiar voice that startled her greatly causing her to jump and trip over her tattered laces crashing into a shelf and knocking several books and a vase off the shelf, the vase shattered just to the side of her causing her to shriek as the books clattered around her battering her a bit. “Oh dear, I didn’t mean to frighten you.” The man was standing in the doorway now dressed in a more relaxed light blue shirt and plain black pants he looked less intimidating, his strong features soft with care as he knelt down to help her up out of the books. In a quivering voice weak from her week of illness she hiccupped and started to cry as she looked at the vase “I-i-I-I’m so sorry Mr...I I can’t...I-I’ll try and p-p-p-pay for it” she whimpered and the man shook his head leaning over and picking her up easily this startled her, but she felt safe in these arms...like she felt in her brother’s.

“No need to worry about silly things like that little one. This house is yours now too” He saw the confused stunned look on her face and sat her down and explained what all had happened while she was out with her fever. All while she was having those horrid nightmares her life was becoming a fairy tale...she could barely believe any of it, but the proof was all around her clear as day.

She instantly fell in love with the new life in their brilliant new home. After inquiry and days of talking amongst the three of them they agreed to be adopted by Mr.O’Flanagan who was a wealthy composer and musician. His wife had died not a year before and he’d been lonely and heart broken since then so he was happy to have the children in his home. He let them learn any instrument they wanted and gave them lessons on the basics of music and vocal lessons. The three lived together traveling for performances across Roselincross for many years, so it didn’t surprise their father when the two of them wanted to start doing their own music. Both children combining their sad childhood with their new lease on life outlook to inspire their music, when the two learned that a new station that would travel all over and could be a great opportunity to spread their new skills their father couldn’t turn down their request. They were adults now it was time for them to make their own way in the world anyway, so Emer and Rórdán set off for the Jirachi to make it big as musicians so they could make their foster father proud.

Personality: Emer is incredibly shy and clumsy, she’s very self concsious and gets nervous easily around those she doesn’t know. The only times she really sheds this shyness and comes out of her shell is when she’s around her brother or she’s on stage. On stage she becomes a dazzlingly charming singer with a soulful voice and a cute charm that’s hard to resist. Since she has faith in her music she feels more confident and sturdy on stage rather than off, it takes a bit of talking to her in a relaxed state to get her to start to open up. She wants to be more outgoing and make friends, but she has a lot of anxiety about meeting new people that she panics a lot instead of remaining calm. Once you get past the shyness she’s a big hearted girl who wants to take care of those she considers dear to her with all her might.
